About payment

When do I get paid as a self-employed person?

You usually get paid within 24 hours after the customer has paid the invoice. You can choose between 1, 10, 20 or 30 days payment terms (the number of days before the customer must pay) on the invoice. We will notify you by email when we have received the customer's payment.

How much do you charge and what is included in the fee?

EasyFreelance charges a fee of 4.9% of the invoiced amount excluding VAT. This fee includes:
- Insurance during the assignment period
- Support
- Reporting and payment of taxes and fees.
- Payment of your salary
- Collection management

What percentage of the invoice will I receive as salary?

When working with an invoice, you can always see what you receive in net salary at the bottom of the screen. By clicking on the heading "How we calculated" you get a detailed summary of all allocated costs on the invoice.

Hint! Before you take on an assignment, you can calculate how much salary you will receive depending on the size of the invoice. This can be useful when deciding how much to charge for an assignment. Try calculating your salary after tax here with our invoice calculator.

Where can I find my paycheck?

You can easily find your payslips under "My payments".

What is driving allowance?

Mileage allowance can be agreed as a fixed monthly amount, a compensation per kilometer driven or a combination of these. If you receive a certain fixed amount during the year or month for using your own car, part of it will be tax-free and part can be considered as regular taxable salary. This depends on how much you actually drive.

The most common is a mileage-based allowance according to state rates. The mileage charge for domestic travel is currently NOK 4.03 per kilometer. Of this, only DKK 3.50 is tax-free, so you have to tax the last 53 cents you get paid per kilometer. The price is the same for electric cars too.

At EasyFreelance, we use the government's tax-free rates, i.e. NOK 3.50 as long as you use an electronic logbook.

What is a choir book?

No logbook, no mileage allowance. There are several reasons why you need to document your car use. Either you use a private car for work and are reimbursed for the use of the car, or you have a company car that you need to document is not used privately for tax reasons.

We require you to use Autogear to get mileage allowance on your invoice.

Can I deduct all types of fees?

You are entitled to deduct costs incurred in your assignment if they are directly related to the service you provide. The expenses you can deduct are travel, accommodation, rental of premises and goods, and consumables. "Consumables" means things that are used and consumed in the individual assignment. You must always present a receipt, in digital or physical form, to get your expenses approved.
‍
Important! For expenses over NOK 4,000 including VAT, EasyFreelance must be the recipient on the receipt.
