About payment

When do I get paid as a self-employed person?

You usually get paid within 24 hours of the customer paying the invoice. You can choose between 1, 10, 20 or 30-day payment terms (the number of days before the customer has to pay) on the invoice. We will notify you by email when we have received the customer's payment.

How much do you charge and what is included in the fee?

EasyFreelance charges a fee of 4.9% of the invoiced amount excluding VAT. This fee includes:
- Insurance during the assignment period
- Support
- Reporting and payment of taxes and duties.
- Payment of your salary
- Collection management

How much of the invoice do I receive as salary?

When you're working on an invoice, you can always see your net salary at the bottom of the screen. If you click on the heading "This is how we've calculated", you'll get a detailed summary of all allocated costs on the invoice.

Tip! Before you take on an assignment, you can calculate how much salary you will receive depending on the size of the invoice. This can be useful when deciding how much to charge for an assignment. Try calculating your salary after tax here using our invoice calculator.

Where can I find my payslip?

You can easily find your payslips under "My Payments".

What is mileage allowance?

Driving allowance can be agreed as a fixed monthly amount, an allowance per kilometer driven or a combination of these. If you receive a certain fixed amount per year or month for using your own car, part of it will be tax-free and part may be regarded as ordinary taxable salary. This will depend on how much you actually drive.

The most common is a mileage-based allowance according to government rates. The rate for mileage allowance for domestic travel is currently NOK. 4.03 per kilometer. Of this, only NOK. 3.50 is tax-free, which means you have to pay tax on the last 53 öre you are paid per kilometer. The rate is also the same for electric cars.

At EasyFreelance, we use the government's tax-free rates, i.e. NOK 3.50 as long as you use an electronic logbook.

What is a logbook?

No logbook, no mileage allowance. There may be several reasons why you need to document your car use. Either you use a private car for work and should receive compensation for car use, or you have a company car that, for tax reasons, you must document is not used privately.

We require that you use Autogear to receive mileage allowance on your invoices.

Can I deduct all types of costs?

You are entitled to deduct expenses you have incurred in your assignment if they are directly linked to the service you provide. The expenses you can deduct are travel, accommodation, rental of premises and goods, as well as consumables. Consumables are defined as items that are used and consumed in the individual assignment. You must always present a receipt, in digital or physical form, to have your expenses approved.
‍
Important! For expenses over NOK 4,000 including VAT, EasyFreelance must be listed as the recipient on the receipt.
